Troop Camping

Troop camping allows girls to attend one of our resident camps with their troops and troop facilitators. The troop camping information/registration packet is sent out to troop facilitators in January's distribution service. You must have this packet to receive full information and to register your troop for a program. Troop facilitators may contact the Girl Scout office to request an information packet.

Troop camping registration is facilitated by mail. There is no online registration for troop camping.   

Benefits of Troop Camping

Troop camping is a cost-effective way for girls and adults in both experienced and inexperienced troops to enjoy the camp experience together. Troop camping can be a good step prior to sending girls to resident camp or going camping on your own as a troop.

Who Can Participate in Troop Camping?

Girl Scout Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador troops and their troop facilitators. Individual girls may not register for this camping experience. All troops must adhere to age-level leader-to-girl ratios in accordance with Safety-Wise.

Troop Camping Program Options

Girl Scouts of Utah offers two types of troop camping programs for Girl Scout troops and adult facilitators: The Works and Meet You in the Middle. Each option provides a different level of programming from the camp. Choose the best option for your troop as described below.

The Works is for Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. This option provides all programming for girls and basic outdoor training for adults with support from camp staff.

Meet You in the Middle is for Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. For this option, camp staff provides about half the program and troop facilitators provide about half the program with little support from camp staff.
