Volunteering for Girl Scouts

Volunteers are the backbone of Girl Scouting. More than 3,500 adult volunteers in Utah bring their talents, energy, and dedication to Girl Scouting.

We seek adult volunteers, both women and men, committed to make a difference in the lives of girls. Rewarding, fun, and flexible volunteer opportunities are available. Choose to participate one time, once a month, on weekends or evenings, or during a particular time of year.

Volunteer Responsibilities/Requirements

  • All volunteers must subscribe to the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
  • All volunteers must be registered members of Girl Scouts of the USA (except for one-time volunteers).
  • Volunteers must support and work within the framework of the council charter, articles of incorporation, bylaws, policies, and goals and objectives.
  • When working directly with girls on a regular basis, volunteers must complete a volunteer application, pass a criminal background check, provide references, and participate in a face-to-face interview.

Equal Opportunity for Volunteers

Girl Scouts of Utah values diversity and inclusiveness and does not discriminate. Every volunteer position in Girl Scouting is open to qualified women, as well as men. Because we believe that female role models are especially important to young girls during their developing years, men working directly with girls must serve as co-facilitators with women facilitators of troops/groups.
