Council Patch Programs
PATCH PROGRAMS BASED ON OUR FIVE INITIATIVES
Girls build confidence in their abilities to stand up for what they believe in by learning to advocate in three categories: Government and Civic Engagement, Human Rights & Social Justice, and Environmental Stewardship.
Through healthy living, girls are reminded of their promise to respect themselves and others. They build healthy bodies, healthy self-images, healthy relationships, and in turn, make the world a better place.
STEM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH)
There are still too few women in STEM careers, but change is on its way! This program will ignite girls’ natural curiosity and creativity while they build critical thinking and problem solving skills related to the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Girls focus on the five skills that will build them up to be our women business leaders of tomorrow: Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills, and Business Ethics.
Whether it’s their own backyard, a mountain range, or the Utah desert, girls will be provided with the resources and training that will give them confidence to explore the outdoors.
Girls ages 12 and older will be trained by local media experts and public speaking coaches in order to be an ambassador for the Girl Scouts of Utah.
Miss Media Girl Scouts will be given the opportunity to:
- Report on exciting events throughout the year
- Create content and photos for GSU social media platforms
- Speak at local Rotary or Chamber events
- Recruit new Girl Scouts at various community events
- Interview on live TV or radio
- Create Girl Scout Videos
