Trefoil Ranch History
Trefoil Ranch was purchased in 1946 from the Thomas Lewis family for the sum of $4,000. Local volunteers raised over $10,000 from 100 donors to purchase the land and begin building the dining hall, infirmary, and tent platforms. The camp remained relatively unchanged for almost 40 years. In 1983, major improvements were made beginning with moving the horse corral and building a showerhouse and a 6,600 square foot bunkhouse. The new bunkhouse provided sleeping and program areas for troops and groups to use year-round.
In April 2002, the old lodge was torn down and construction began on the new lodge and classroom building, as well as a new unit restroom facility and a remodeling of the "Bar M" showerhouse. The new lodge and classroom building were dedicated in 2003.
