As a Girl Scout volunteer, there are so many different ways to support our girls as they work towards their Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. The most important thing to remember through the process is that the project is hers. The Highest Awards give girls an opportunity to learn how to become leaders and try things on their own. They take on big projects, learn how to contact organizations, budget, stick to a timeline, coordinate logistics, and all sorts of other things that prepare them to be successful young women and adults throughout the rest of their lives. You are there to guide them, not to do the project for them—remember, the project belongs to the girl, and it will mean the world to her to have your support.
