Trefoil Ranch - Provo Canyon

Trefoil Ranch is located on 123 acres of beautiful ranch country tucked away in Provo Canyon. Trefoil Ranch features a lodge, ranch house, bunk house, showers, electricity, hot water and flush toilets. Trefoil Ranch is home to about 20 horses, offering unique opportunities to experience equestrian programs. Girls live in cabins or platform tents with staff located nearby. Girls can enjoy horseback riding instruction, high and low ropes courses, archery, biking, hiking, and other camp activities. 

Ways to Pay

All summer camp programs require a $50 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit. Camp payments are due in full by May 23.

There are many options available to help you get to Girl Scout camp:     

1. Activity Credits

The Girl Scouts of Utah Cookie Program helps girls pay for Girl Scout programming through earned Activity Credits. Girls receive Activity Credits to help pay for summer camps, day camps, program activities, Girl Scout membership fees, and items from the Girl Scout Shop.

⚬ For every 50 packages of cookies (from 50-349 boxes), girls earn $12.50 in Activity Credit value.

⚬ For every 50 packages of cookies (starting at 350+ boxes), girls earn $15.00 in Activity Credit value.

2. Activity Scholarship Program

This program provides assistance for individual girl members who are registered Girl Scouts and wish to attend GSU sponsored camps or programs, but are unable, due to  financial restraints. The decision to grant an Activity Scholarship and the amount, is based on information given on the application form. Applications may be submitted after completion of the initial registration and a $50 non-refundable, non transferable deposit is paid.

3. Tiered Pricing (T1, T2, T3)

Tiered pricing makes it possible for all campers to have the same experience regardless of what their caregiver can afford. Tiered prices are listed with each camp session description and should be selected based on what the camper’s caregiver can afford.* No financial documentation is required. Activity Scholarships are available if assistance is needed to pay for tier three.

Hone your cooking skills and take your meals to the next level as you learn kitchen safety, and how to chop, dice and mince. Prepare for the Chopped competition on the last day as you bake, fry and sauté your way through the week by cooking out at least one meal a day. During the competition teams will receive a mystery basket and compete to create the best appetizer, entrée and dessert to present to a panel of judges, all while you work on your Simple Meals Badge.

Horse Lover

Develop your horsewomanship skills this summer at Trefoil Ranch’s stables. Kickin’ It Camp Style

A 10-day camp designed for the guru camper! Check-in at Camp Cloud Rim and spend time at the pottery studio and waterfront. Enjoy off-camp activities including a day rock climbing trip and a 3-day and 2-night backpacking adventure. Trek to Trefoil Ranch and experience the ropes course, archery and horseback riding. The experience will also include an off-camp high ropes course and river kayaking.
Girls will check out from Trefoil Ranch on the last day of the adventure. All campers should be able to carry a hiking backpack 3-5 miles each day for three days. Individual and group gear is distributed among the campers and staff in order to ensure campers are only carrying up to 1/4 their body weight. Girls will be transported to program sites by camp staff. Fee includes off-site rafting, off-site backpacking, off-site rock climbing, horse experience and off-site ropes course.

Range Riders

This is a chance for experienced horse riders to shine. Visit the stables daily where you’ll learn advanced horse care and riding skills. Practice drills, go on trail rides, present a mounted flag ceremony and participate in Showdeo. The adventure continues with an overnight pack trip. Help the riding staff with a lesson for younger girls at the stables. Enjoy classic camp activities as well like high ropes course, archery and arts and crafts.
Girls will not ride horses on Sunday.

Wrangler-In-Training (WIT)

Wrangler-in-Training is a two-week leadership program where you’ll continue to expand your knowledge of the equestrian program at Trefoil Ranch, while also learning how to work with younger campers throughout your stay. The second week of camp will focus on leading the younger girls through their horse programming at the stables, with support from the equestrian staff. This training prepares you to be a future riding counselor, so be prepared to work hard and fully immerse yourself in the staff side of camp.
For summer 2018, girls do not need to complete LIT to participate in WIT. Starting in 2019, all girls in WIT need to have completed LIT.

Camp Cloud Rim sits at an elevation of 9,200 feet near Park City, nestled among aspen and pine on the shores of Lake Brimhall. Camp Cloud Rim has beautiful facilities including a lodge and shower house, electricity, hot water and flush toilets. Girls live in cabins or platform tents with staff located nearby. Aquatic Sailors

A 10-day camp designed for the guru camper! Check-in at Camp Cloud Rim and spend time at the pottery studio and waterfront. Enjoy off-camp activities including a day rock climbing trip and a 3-day and 2-night backpacking adventure. Trek to Trefoil Ranch and experience the ropes course, archery and horseback riding. The experience will also include an off-camp high ropes course and river kayaking.
Girls will check out from Trefoil Ranch on the last day of the adventure. All campers should be able to carry a hiking backpack 3-5 miles each day for three days. Leader-In-Training (LIT)

The Leader-in-Training program (LIT) is the building block for Girl Scouts of Utah’s Leadership Programs at Camp Cloud Rim. LIT is the mandatory prerequisite to the Counselor-in-Training 1, Counselor-in-Training 2 and Junior Counselor programs. This two-week camp includes fun camp programming opportunities, youth development and a camp service project. An emphasis is placed on the Camp Program Quality Assessment tool. Throughout the two weeks participants will attend workshops about female developmental stages, diversity and rainy day backup plans and games without equipment. These workshops are focused on helping the LITs learn and improve their leadership skills and traits throughout the program. LITs will also participate in an overnight experience, perfect their Basic 8 Outdoor Skills and attend Camper Council.

Leader-in-Training (LIT) requires girls go through an application and interview before being accepted into the leadership programs. LIT is the prerequisite for Counselor-in-Training I, Counselor-in-Training II, WIT and Junior Counselor. Any girls who are new to GSU’s leadership track (with the exception of LEAP) must also fill out an application and participate in an interview.

Counselor-In-Training 1 (CIT 1)

Practice your leadership skill and expereince at camp! Gain techniques and strategies for supervising campers, and learn counseling skills for homesickness, behavior management and conflict resolution. CITs will plan and execute camper’s choice activities each week. CITs will shadow the Unit Staff for three days during the second week. CITs will shadow a Program Director for two days during the second week.

Counselor-In-Training 2 (CIT 2)

Building on the skills you learned in CIT 1, expand your interests and skills in camp counseling, increase your ability to manage and teach children and learn about risk management and resolving difficult situations. Spend time at camp planning and teaching Camper’s Choice activities and the themed all-camp evening programs. During your second week, you will be placed with a unit of campers or a program area at Camp Cloud Rim. You’ll get the full daily experience including the camper’s morning wake-up routine, Polar Bear Plunge and overnight experiences with campers.

Junior Counselor (formerly Counselor-In-Training 3)

June 25–30 “Training Week”
By the time you reach the Junior Counselor program, you will be ready to jump into camp life and practice the leadership and camp skills you’ve built over the years. Spend one week at Camp Cloud Rim in an intensive Junior Counselor training, a refresher of LIT, CIT 1, and CIT 2 workshops. This will also include training components such as emergency procedures, incident reporting, camper discipline and bully prevention. Junior Counselors will also receive Quick Cards and a Bag of Tricks. After completing the week of training, you’ll be asked to come back to camp for two weeks to complete the Junior Counselor internship. Junior Counselors may choose to complete their internships at Camp Cloud Rim or Trefoil Ranch and will receive an email inviting them to select dates.
