Planned Giving

With thoughtful planning, a ‘planned gift’ creates a win-win for you and for Girl Scouts of Utah. For example:

  • You can make a gift that costs nothing during your lifetime.
  • You can give stock and realize larger tax savings.
  • You can donate your house, continue to live there, and get a tax break all at the same time.

Also called a legacy gift, planned giving is a charitable bequest in your will which can be revocable or irrevocable, so that you benefit from an immediate income tax deduction.  You allocate an asset today, but the actual giving of the asset is put off until after your lifetime, (and that of a surviving beneficiary, if you wish).

To get started, please call or email us and we’d be happy to sit down with you to explore the possibilities. Contact Melissa Mathews at mmathews@gsutah.org or (801) 716-5153.
