Program Description
Junior and older Girl Scouts are invited to be some of the first people to experience Trefoil Ranch’s newest program area - a brand-new ropes course!
Girls can register with an adult to experience the new ropes course for a 2-hour program block. Participants will work on skills such as problem solving, communication, and encouragement, all while enjoying the beauty of Trefoil Ranch.
Please note that only portions of the new course will be explored at this program - attendees will not complete the entire course or all of the elements present. Size of group, ages and other variables will determine what elements are worked on at the new course. Camp staff will determine the elements used after reviewing registrant information for each program block.
Meals are NOT provided at this event. Snacks will be available, please eat meals before/after coming for your program time.
Program Dates and Time
You must attend the day/block of time that you are registered for. Reference your confirmation email to confirm what date and program block you signed up for.

Adult Members: $25 | Adult Non-Members: $30
There is an option to attend as a supervising adult for free. If you register for this option, you will not be permitted onto the course at any level. If you wish to walk around or under the course to take photos of your participant, for safety you will need to wear a helmet.
All payments are due in full by June 3 (June 29 session) and July 1 (July 27 session).
Participation Type
Girls (Grade 4 – Grade 12) must attend with an adult family member or with their troop leaders. All girls and adults must be registered; no tag-a-longs permitted at this event.
Arrival at Camp
Check in will begin 45 minutes BEFORE your assigned program block, and will end 15 minutes after your assigned program time.
For example, if you signed up for the 10:00 a.m. session, check in will begin at 9:15 a.m. and will end at 9:45 a.m. Check-in will be at the gate, and you will be directed to park in the upper meadow. There is 5-10 minute walk from the main parking lot to the meadow where the ropes course is, hence the check in window ending 15 minutes before your allotted start time.
The closest bathroom to the parking area is a screened, open-air biffy at one of the units. Make sure to bring a full water bottle with you; there is no running water up in the meadow.
Your program time begins at the allotted time slot you chose, regardless of if you are on time or not. Please note that if you arrive late, we cannot extend the time the program ends to ensure you get 2 hours of programming.
Provided Meals/Snacks
No meals are provided at this event. We will have water coolers set up at the ropes course, and there will be a small assortment of snacks (granola bars, chips, etc.) for participants. If your program starts near a meal time, make sure to eat that meal before you arrive.
Additional Program Details
There is a dress code to participate in the ropes course. Attendees must be wearing closed-toed, closed-heeled shoes, preferably with good traction (tennis shoes, hiking shoes are ideal). Attendees who show up with only open-toed shoes (flip flops, Chacos, etc.) will not be permitted on the course.
Shorts are ok, but it is recommended that they be mid-thigh in length or longer. The harnesses in use will cause shorts to ride up, and if attendees wear short-shorts, the harness will quickly become extremely uncomfortable and will chafe against skin.
Adults that are attending as a supervising adult (not participating) may still be required to wear a helmet if they wish to walk around or under the course where people are participating.
Contact Information
For questions about the program in the weeks before the event, contact GSU Customer Care at 801-265-8472 or info@gsutah.org.
For questions about the program on June 28-29, or on July 26-27, contact Chelbie Beagley, Outdoor Program Specialist, at 385-318-9594.
Program Description
During these 2.5-hour program blocks, get clued in to horses by learning about how to care for horses, what equipment you need, rider lingo, and more before grooming, learning about how to tack your horse, and going on a ride. Participants will ride in the arena for 1-hour and have a 1-hour horse care lesson.
Attending Girl Scout Juniors will earn parts of the Horseback Riding badge.
Meals are NOT provided at this event. Snacks will be available, please eat meals before/after coming for your program time.

Adult Members: $45 | Adult Non-Members: $45
There is an option to attend as a supervising adult for free. If you register for this option, you will not ride/interact with horses. There will be a certain area of the stables that you are required to stay within – it will be close enough to view your camper and take photos, but you will be separate from the group of participants for most of the program block.
All payments are due in full by June 3 (June 29 session) and July 1 (July 27 session).
Participation Type
Girls (K – Grade 12) must attend with an adult family member or with their troop leaders. All girls and adults must be registered; no tag-a-longs permitted at this event.
Arrival at Camp
Check in will begin 45 minutes BEFORE your assigned program block, and will end 15 minutes before your assigned program time.
For example, if you signed up for the 12:30 p.m. session, check in will begin at 11:45 a.m. and will end at 12:15 p.m. Check-in will be at the gate, and you will be directed to park in the upper meadow. There is about a 10-minute walk from the upper meadow to the stables, hence the check in window ending 15 minutes before your allotted start time.
The closest bathroom to the parking area is a screened, open-air biffy at one of the units. Make sure to bring a full water bottle with you; there is some water at the stables in portable coolers, but there is no running water up there.
Your program time begins at the allotted time slot you chose, regardless of if you are on time or not. Please note that if you arrive late, we cannot extend the time the program ends to ensure you get a 2.5 hours of program.
Provided Meals/Snacks
No meals are provided at this event. We will have water coolers set up at the stables, and there will be a small assortment of snacks (granola bars, chips, etc.) for participants. If your program starts near a meal time, make sure to eat before you arrive.
Additional Program Details
There is a dress code at the stables, regardless of if you are riding or not. All attendees must be wearing closed-toed, closed-heeled shoes, a shirt with sleeves (no tank tops due to biting flies and sunburns), and long pants.
For those that are riding, the long pants are preferred to be jeans, as they give the best protection to pinching/rubbing on equipment. Regardless of their material, the pants need to be solid with no holes or distressed areas – holes in jeans often get caught on equipment and can easily cause you to have issues mounting/dismounting.
Beyond clothing, all attendees in the stables area will need to wear approved riding boots and a helmet. If you have your own pair of boots, you are welcome to bring them, but all helmets in use must be the camp-supplied ones. Camp has a variety of sizes of boots and helmets for attendees to use during their session.

Participants can take precautions against insect bites by wearing long sleeves, long pants, and mosquito repellant containing DEET – especially in the early morning and evening hours when insect activity is higher.
Dietary Needs
The camps can facilitate basic special diets, including lactose-intolerance, vegetarian, gluten-free, and simple allergies. When you registered for your program, you were asked about the participant’s dietary needs and the severity of any food allergies to ensure that we can plan meals accordingly.
Participants with severe food allergies must be fully able to manage their allergies at camp and know not to eat any food that they are allergic to. We do our best to accommodate but cannot guarantee that a participant will not come into contact with a specific type of food or allergen during their stay. If the participant has severe dietary restrictions and food allergies, please contact us at info@gsutah.org.
Meals and Snacks
Meals and snacks will be provided as listed in the Program Specific Information section. Any food or beverages brought to camp by participants needs to be kept in a vehicle, stored in a camp kitchen, or with them during the day (i.e., in backpack). Please do not keep food and beverages (besides water) in your sleeping areas as it attracts rodents and other animals.
When weather permits, picnic tables will be dispersed throughout camp with one household per table to allow for social distancing. In the event of inclement weather, tables will be dispersed in the lodge with one household per table.
Per Girl Scouts of USA and the American Camp Association, all medications (over the counter, herbal, prescription) must be locked in a secure place. As part of our COVID-19 update, camp staff will not handle medications brought to camp by participants unless it is a girl only program.
Find necessary forms in our Forms and Documents center.
Girl/Adult and Family Programs
Medications are to be in a locked, secure location (e.g., in a vehicle) and distributed by the family. If an adult or child is taking medications or has a medical condition that could impair the ability to participate in the program, please discuss the details with the Program Lead upon arrival.

Girls attending with their troop need to turn in their medications to their Troop Leader with a completed Medication Log. All medication (prescription, over the counter, herbal, etc.) needs to be in its original container. All prescription medication must be prescribed for the individual taking the medication. EPI-Pen Medication and Authorization forms are also required for those girls bringing EPI-Pens to the program.
Adults attending with their troop need to keep their medications in a locked, secure location (e.g., in a vehicle).
