Expand your Girl Scout journey and skillset with any of our leadership opportunities. You can mentor younger Girl Scouts, meet and be mentored by local professionals, influence Girl Scouting at the council level, or represent the council and gain experience in media.

Leadership Awards are a fresh new way for Girl Scouts to lead with confidence, mentor others, work as a team, and take action in their communities. They're also a prerequisite for the Highest Awards.

These awards are about building real skills for real impact and having the confidence to turn your ideas into action. Whether you’re working with a team, leading a group, or stepping up to a challenge, these awards are designed to help you explore what leadership means to you—no pressure, just room to grow:

Girl Scout Changemakers toggle arrow

As a Changemaker, you’ll take the lead in dreaming up and hosting a Girl Scout Week activity on March 6. You’ll build real-world marketing skills by helping cover council events and sharing the Girl Scout experience in your own voice.

And with all things Girl Scout, this is girl-led, you’ll help decide what comes next! As a group, you’ll choose whether to take on a Day on the Hill during the summer or create an unforgettable Cadette Day.

Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to earn a Leadership Award, putting you one step closer to completing your Highest Award. Most importantly, you’ll build the skills confidence, and resilience to be a changemaker, advocate, and leader—as a Girl Scout.

How to join Girl Scout Changemakers

Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors can join by registering for the October 7 Kickoff. You'll meet other Girl Scouts, explore what's to come, and choose our council's next international destination.

The Girl Advisory Board (GAB) is comprised of Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors in grades 6-12 from service units across the council to act as representatives of our members.

As a member of the Girl Advisory Board (GAB), you’ll help shape the future of Girl Scouting in Utah, lend your voice to big decisions, and work with other inspiring girls to make real impact. It’s leadership with purpose—and a whole lot of fun.

How to Join GAB

Join by registering for a GAB virtual meeting. Our first meeting is October 6. We’ll break down what GAB is all about, introduce a few fun projects, and more!

GAB Officer Applications

GAB is looking for passionate, creative, and change-making girls to apply for officer positions—President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian. Any GAB Girl Scout is encouraged to apply! Selected applicants will decide together how to assign officer roles.

A letter sharing why you want to join GAB and what makes you a strong candidate
Two recommendation letters (one can be from a caregiver; the other should be from someone who can speak to your leadership skills and character)
