The Char Corbit Campership Fund was created to provide camp scholarships, known as camperships, to remove financial barriers to the incredible outdoor adventures at summer camp.
Camp is a pivotal part of the Girl Scout experience and our Outdoors pillar. Each year, thousands of girls head to the mountains where they practice independence, learn new skills, problem solve and make lifelong friends. For many, camp will shape their futures and improve their lives.
Our campership fund was named to honor lifetime Girl Scout Charlotte 'Char' Corbit. Char was an integral part of GSU, leading fundraising and renovation efforts that supported both camp properties and outdoor programming.
Char was determined to help as many girls as possible to learn the essential life skills taught at camp.
A donation of $500 through the Char Corbit Campership Fund allows a girl to attend a full week at camp. However, any amount allows us to extend the joy of our camps to more girls, granting them access to unforgettable experiences and lifelong friendships.
