Many employers sponsor matching gift programs to match charitable contributions made by their employees. Plus, if you volunteer with GSU, your company may also offer donations in recognition of your hours spent volunteering. These are called volunteer grants.
Typically, there are a few steps to request a matching gift:
- Donate – Make your personal donation and save your tax receipt. (Many companies will allow employees to submit matching requests for up to one year following your donation)
- Search – Contact your human resources department directly to ask if they offer a matching gift program.
- Match – Complete your company’s matching gift verification form and send to us. We’ll take care of the rest!
Volunteer grant programs can be applied as a Troop Sponsorship (up to $250 per membership year) or as a credit to the Annual Appeal campaign. Each company has specific guidelines for their volunteer grant programs. Contact your company’s human resources department for more information.
