Join Hunter Valley Service Unit for their Citizen Scientist & STEM Day Camp on July 17 - July 19! Girl Scouts will earn their Citizen Scientist Journey and participate in fun STEM-related activities with help from volunteers from Utah Museum of Natural History.   A t-shirt is included with your registration fee.

 

Snacks will be provided each day. Dinner will not be provided on Thursday and Friday, so participants should plan on eating prior to arrival. Lunch is included on Saturday. The event planners can accommodate gluten free and vegetarian meal alternatives if listed on your dietary restrictions, but other dietary needs may need to bring their own meal option. Please list any allergies and dietary needs on your registration and if you have additional concerns, please plan on discussing them with the event lead.   

 

Day Camp will occur from 6:00-8:30 pm on July 17 and 18, and from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm on July 19.  The cost is $30 for Girl Scouts and $20 for adults. There is a $10 non-refundable deposit that is due at the time of registration. The remainder of your registration fee is due by June 23rd.

 

Girl Scout levels can sign up for this day camp, but you must be a member to attend. Adults are welcome to attend with their Girl Scouts, but are not required to attend. This event is open to individual Girl Scouts, Girl Scout/adult pairs, or troops. Any adults that attend will be asked to help with supervision of participants.  

 

Program Type

This event is hosted by Hunter Valley Service Unit. The volunteers have completed event specific training, completed youth protection training, and have been background checked. Service Units agree to follow Girl Scouts of Utah's policies and procedures to conduct a safe, fun event for Girl Scouts. Girl Scouts of Utah staff will not be present at this event.

 

Membership Type

This is a member-only event.

 

Participation Type

This event is open for Girl Scouts attending with their troop, with their adult, and/or by themselves. Girl Scouts attending by themselves will be supervised by trained and background checked program staff and/or volunteers following Girl Scout ratios and policies. Troops must follow Events, Travel, & Camping ratios as outlined in Volunteer Essentials. Each person is required to register.

 

Program Fee and Payment

$30 per Girl Scout ($10 non-refundable deposit due with registration)

$20 per adult ($10 non-refundable deposit due with registration)

Balances due in full by June 23. If you register after this date, (a) you will be required to pay in full and (b) you will have 10 days to submit Activity Credits to have GSU refund your initial payment for the credits.

 

Activity Scholarships (Members Only)

For programs with a deposit, register for the program and pay the deposit. Activity scholarships will be applied toward the balance due.

 

Activity Credits (Youth Members Only)

Youth members can use Activity Credits to pay for this program.

Mail Activity Credits to Girl Scouts of Utah with a payment form.

 

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Program deposits are non-refundable.

Cancellations less than 10 business days (Monday-Friday) from the program start date will forfeit the full amount of the fee for each person registered.
