GSUSA Gold Award Scholarship Recipient Announced

Congratulations to Kassandra on being named our council's GSUSA Gold Award Scholarship Girl Scout! Kassandra's project focuses on informing Utah families about the importance of infant eye exams. As a recipient, she will receive a $5,000 scholarship towards her education.
Kassandra graduated with an associate’s degree in science and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s in computer science with an emphasis in entertainment arts and engineering. As a dedicated member of Girl Scouts for 13 years, she has participated in the First Lego League team, Girl Scout Advisory Board, and completed multiple summer camp leadership programs.
Kassandra created awareness around infant eye care, allowing parents and guardians access to the many resources that are available, but unknown. This initiative included updates to the Baby Your Baby website, informative pamphlets, a video, and social media posts.
We are so proud of Kassandra's hard work and can't wait to follow along as she continues to change the world.
