Annual Meeting

Per Girl Scouts of Utah, the Annual Meeting of the corporate membership (comprised of board members), board development committee members, and council delegates elected by (Service Units) is conducted each April.

Annual Meeting -  the members shall: 

  • Elect officers, directors at large, members of the Board
  • Development Committee and, every three years, the delegates and alternate to the National convention
  • Consider any proposed amendments to the bylaws
  • Provide input on key issues affecting the council and the Movement 
  • Consider any other business appropriate to come before the corporation in accordance with the process established by the Board of Directors

Service Unit Delegates

  • Delegates represent their Service Units at Town Hall Meetings and at the Annual Meeting 
  • Service Units select delegates and alternate delegates – adult members as well as girl members who are 14 years of age and older
  • The delegate position is a crucial part of GSU Council Governance. Each Service Unit is allotted at least 2 delegates; communities whose girl membership exceeds 300 are allocated 3, and another delegate is allowed for each 100 girls thereafter 

National Delegates

  • National delegates are selected by the board develoment committee to represent the council at the national convention and vote on national issues. They are elected at the Annual Meeting and serve a three-year term
