This first session sets the stage for News Crew as girls dive into the power of storytelling and the many ways we share our voices. After fun icebreakers and setting group expectations, girls will be introduced to storytelling across different media-print, audio, video, and digital. Each girl will create her own personalized "press pass" to use throughout the year, helping them step into their role as a reporter. The session wraps up with a mini project where girls write and share a short personal news blurb, giving them their first chance to practice their storytelling skills and build confidence in front of the group.
This event is open for Girl Scouts attending with their adult or by themselves. Girl Scouts attending by themselves will be supervised by trained and background checked program staff and/or volunteers following Girl Scout ratios and policies. Troops must follow Events, Travel, & Camping ratios as outlined in Volunteer Essentials. Each person is required to register.
