Pack your day bag and start recruiting your team for this year's edition of Wasatch Wanderlust in Provo! All new challenges will provide an epic experience as you adventure around the city via public transportation. Work with your team to develop your strategy to earn the most points, but don't forget to take in the sights and learn about the city as you travel. Think you've got what it takes to win this year's top prize?
This scavenger hunt-style event offers a new way to explore the city for those that are familiar with the area and is a fun way to introduce Provo to those that don't often make the trip. They'll be many exciting options to choose from, so you can make the day yours!
Supplies will be mailed to teams prior to the event and there will be a pre-event virtual meeting to go over instructions plus give tips. All teams will meet to kick off the event and plan out their route for the day, before being set loose to navigate the city and complete challenges. We'll all meet back together at the end to celebrate highlights from the day and award prizes to the top teams.
Participants will need to provide their own lunch and snacks or budget to purchase something along the way. The team will need access to a smartphone during the event and will need to download the Goosechase app to participate. This event includes travel around the city via public transportation and on foot. Participants should be physically prepared to take part in this event.
By registering for this event, your team will receive:
an invitation to a pre-event virtual meeting to go over instructions for the program and learn tips on using public transportation
day passes for all participants to use UTA public transportation services
one printed booklet per team with locations to visit and challenges to complete throughout the day
access to the Goosechase app to submit photos and answers for points on the day of the event
the opportunity to earn prizes for your team
Register your team by April 20 and receive 500 bonus points!
This event is for Girl Scouts in grades 4-12 and adults. Participation can be in troops (following youth to adult ratios) or as Girl Scout/adult pairs. Adults are responsible for supervising their Girl Scouts during the event. All participants (both Girl Scouts and adults) must register and pay by the registration deadline to receive their UTA pass. The cost to attend this program is $15 per person. Any adult participating needs to be a registered member of Girl Scouts with a valid background check on file who has completed GSU's youth protection training.
To participate in this event, Girl Scouts and their adults will be placed in teams. Teams will complete challenges together as they travel around the city and must stick together as a group throughout the day. A team must have a minimum of two adults and four Girl Scouts and a maximum of ten people. Any Girl Scout/adult pairs that sign up without a troop will be placed on a team with other pairs. If your troop has more than ten people participating, you'll need to split into two teams.
Registration will be through your myGS account. While registering, please indicate under the "Buddy Info" question the adult responsible for your team to help us in coordinating. We will be following up with the main adult for each team to verify details of your team after registration closes.
By registering for this program, all participants agree to have photographs, video, audiotape, and artist renditions to be taken of them while involved in Girl Scout programs. Registered participants allow Girl Scouts of Utah to release said images for the promotion and publicity of Girl Scouting. For this event, Girl Scouts of Utah is partnering with the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) and may share select images with their organization for promotion of the event as well.
Travel Note
We will be mailing out the UTA day passes to the team lead the week prior to the event and emailing with instructions on how to use the passes. We encourage teams to travel to the event using their day passes if possible, but there will also be parking available at the kickoff location for those that need to carpool to the event.
If any teams will be coming from farther locations around the state in order to participate and plan on staying a night or two, make sure to follow GSU's travel process as outlined on our website. One-night trips will need to alert their Service Unit Manager and any trips of 2 or more nights will need to be approved by council at least one month in advance.
Program fees may be refunded before 5/18/2025. Cancellations after 5/18/2025 will forfeit the full amount of the fee for each person registered. For cancellations and registration changes, please contact Girl Scouts of Utah at 801-265-8472 or info@gsutah.org.
