Learn from the nature master, Bigfoot! This cryptid has been eluding scientists for centuries while leaving minimal impact on the environment. In fact, it feels impossible to find evidence of Bigfoot even existing! Spend the weekend in Bigfoot's shoes-if they could ever find a pair that fits-and learn the importance of practicing Leave No Trace while creating a connection with the natural world. Participants will enjoy camp activities such as boating, rock climbing/bouldering, hiking, and arts and crafts time. All activities will be determined by weather.
Program Type
This event is hosted by Girl Scouts of Utah council staff members.
Membership Type
This is a member-only event.
Participation Type
This event is designed to be attended by Girl Scout Troops. Troops must follow Events, Travel, & Camping ratios as outlined in Volunteer Essentials including having a minimum of 5 Girl Scouts and 2 Adult Volunteers. We encourage troops to only bring the number of adults needed for ratio, however we do understand that additional adults may be desired for accessibility and to aid in the progression of overnight camping.
To ensure the safety of all our Girl Scouts, every adult in attendance must be a registered member with the troop, background checked and have current youth protection training. Adults who do not meet this criteria 2 weeks prior to the event will have their registration cancelled.
If there are not enough spots for your entire troop to attend, register those you can and wait list the others. GSU will review wait lists on a regular basis and reach out to troops on the wait list with an update. If we are unable to get everyone from your troop registered, we will provide a full refund, including the deposit.
