Theatre Workshop, Lunch, and a Matinee Performance of COME FROM AWAY! Learn "The Art of Collaboration" both on and offstage with PTC. Girl Scouts attendees will not only be introduced to the production side of theatre making, including the full creative brief behind Pioneer Theater Company's production of COME FROM AWAY, but they will also get to experience acting exercises celebrating connection and community building. Inspired by the true-life stories of the inhabitants of Newfoundland after 9/11, everyone will get to explore finding power by working together. Lunch will be provided (dietary restrictions requested). And event attendees will then enjoy that day's live matinee performance of COME FROM AWAY at Pioneer Theatre Company!  This is not a badge-earning event. COVID precautions at the time of event will be followed.

Adults must register to attend. No tagalongs. Onsite registration is not available; girls and adults must register in advance.

In accordance with theatrical licensing agreements, Pioneer Theatre Company presents each production as originally written and intended by its author(s). The production of COME FROM AWAY contains some strong adult language, references to sexual situations, alcohol use, xenophobia directed toward a plane passenger, and acknowledgement of the violence of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. If you are concerned with any content beyond what has been provided, a copy of each production script is available for in-person perusal during PTC's regular Box Office hours. While we at PTC recommend COME FROM AWAY for ages 12 and up, we do encourage parents to use their judgment based on their own research of the show, their own sensibilities, and their child's age and maturity level.

About Broadway's, COME FROM AWAY: A True Story of Kindness in the Wake of Tragedy...When the world stood still on 9/11, an unexpected resilience unfolded in a remote Canadian town. Come From Away, a powerful and uplifting musical based on true events, tells the story of 38 diverted flights carrying nearly 7,000 passengers who found themselves stranded in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland. Undaunted by logistics and language barriers, the people of Gander welcomed the stranded travelers into their community with open arms, recognizing that we're all part of a global family. Don't miss PTC's "guaranteed-to-restore-your-faith-in-humanity" Utah premiere! "A hit and a masterpiece! Joyous, uplifting and plenty of humor." - Herald Sun. "Takes you to a place you never want to leave." - Newsweek
