Wilderness Remote First Aid (WRFA) training teaches the foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response. WRFA training is required for any troop activity located more than a 30 minute journey away from emergency medical care. WRFA training provides individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response. The training includes wilderness and remote environments, as well as urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes.
This is a blended learning training and is a total of 16 hours that must be completed in the following order to become certified:
* 4 hour online self-guided session
* 4 hour virtual meeting with the instructors (May 1 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm)
* 8 hour interactive hands-on skills session (May 2 8:00 am to 4:30 pm)
Notes: Each student is required to have an unique email address for this class. Detailed information regarding each session will be provided in the confirmation email. To remain valid participants must recertify every 2 years.

Participation Type
This event is designed to be attended by and adult or a Girl Scout without an adult caregiver. Youth will be supervised by trained and background checked program staff and/or volunteers following Girl Scout ratios and policies.

$60 per Girl Scout
$60 per adult
Balances due in full by April 24. If you register after this date, (a) you will be required to pay in full and (b) you will have 10 days to submit Activity Credits to have GSU refund your initial payment for the credits.
Activity Scholarships (Members Only)
Learn more and apply for an Activity Scholarship. For programs with a deposit, register for the program and pay the deposit. Activity scholarships will be applied toward the balance due.
Activity Credits (Youth Members Only)
Youth members can use Activity Credits to pay for this program. Mail Activity Credits to Girl Scouts of Utah with a payment form.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Program deposits are non-refundable. Cancellations less than 10 business days (Monday-Friday) from the program start date will forfeit the full amount of the fee for each person registered. For cancellations and registration changes, contact Girl Scouts of Utah at 801-265-8472 or info@gsutah.org.
