Dr. Bonnie K. Baxter will present the keynote address at Utah Day of the Girl on October 4 at the Little America Hotel.
Dr. Baxter, a distinguished Professor of Biology and Director of the Great Salt Lake Institute at Westminster University, will also be honored as our STEM Girl Champion.
With a research focus on the extreme microbiology of the Great Salt Lake, Dr. Baxter has significantly contributed to understanding the ecosystem's foundation. Her work includes publishing numerous scientific articles, the first academic book on the Great Salt Lake's biology, and the first children's book about the lake.
As a dedicated public speaker, Dr. Baxter has become a "spokescientist," educating government representatives, the media, and the community about the water crisis at the lake. We are thrilled to have her share her insights and experiences with us as our keynote speaker!
Utah Day of the Girl
October 4
Held the same week as International Day of the Girl, Utah Day of the Girl is a celebratory breakfast where business and community leaders come together to celebrate the accomplishments of Girl Scouts and women statewide.
In addition, we will honor women of achievement in each of our four program pillars: STEM, Outdoors, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship.
Proceeds from this event support our Gift of Girl Scouts initiative, which provides free membership to new and current Girl Scouts of Utah members.
Save the date and get ready to celebrate the amazing women and girls of Utah with us!
