The Girl Scout Outreach Program delivers the Girl Scout Leadership Experience via three distinct troop types, with varying levels of support from counciil:
The program enables participation in Girl Scouts for those who may not have access to a traditional troop setting.
The partner organization is responsible for delivering the program.
The partner organization’s staff or volunteers facilitate troop meetings and deliver prepared curriculum. The GSU Outreach Program team will gather and deliver all supplies necessary to complete the curriculum.
The partner organization offers the meeting space and helps recruit Girl Scouts to join their troops.
Our Outreach Program staff take on a more active and direct role.
The partner organization provides the meeting space, while a dedicated GSU Outreach Program Specialist or Coordinator prepares the curriculum and gathers the necessary supplies.
The GSU staff member visits each partner site weekly to deliver the curriculum and facilitate troop meetings.
Recruitment efforts are a joint endeavor, with the partner organization and GSU working together to attract Girl Scouts to the program
Volunteer-led troops in the GSU Outreach program operate similarly to staff-led troops, but with the involvement of community volunteers.
GSU staff takes care of curriculum preparation and supply gathering for the volunteers, and volunteers deliver the curriculum during troop meetings hosted at the partner organization’s designated meeting space.
GSU staff, GSU volunteers, and the partner organizations collaborate to recruit Girl Scouts into the program.
